The Opel Zafira minivan is a family car, the main advantage of which, first of all, is a practical and roomy interior. A compact 5-door body, a catchy design and excellent handling combined with maximum comfort are the main components of this car. Zafira debuted in 1999.

In terms of its technical properties, Zafira is very similar to Astra. Only differs slightly reinforced rear suspension. The relationship is also evident in the design of the front of the body, but the novelty, thanks to the large bumper with an additional air intake and chrome trim of the radiator grille, looks more solid.
Despite the fact that it seems small from the outside, a compact interior hides a spacious interior, suitable for any, near or long trips. The interior is spacious, due to the combination of low floor and high ceiling. Thanks to the Flex7 footprint management system, the Opel Zafira has outstanding functional flexibility. “Flex7” allows you to easily and quickly change the configuration of the cabin in accordance with your needs. There are several options, the car can easily be turned into a seven-seater. To do this, you just need to use the special mechanism to remove two additional seats hidden in the trunk floor. In fact, a total of 49 interior configuration options can be created.
Or vice versa, thanks to folding rear seats, significantly increase the volume of the cargo compartment to 490 liters. For transporting larger luggage, you can slide the middle triple seat forward along the slide or even fold it. In the second case, the cargo compartment capacity will increase to 1700 liters.
Comfortable seats are easily adjustable in accordance with the individual characteristics of the driver and passengers, providing maximum comfort. A lot of containers for small items, cup holders, pockets and other practical devices allow you to place a huge number of small items, which is very convenient for a long journey.

In addition to the basic configuration, Zafira is available in Comfort, Elegance, Selection Execituve and OPC. Depending on the series, the car can be equipped with air conditioning, an audio system, an on-board computer, child seats, a sunroof and climate control.
To ensure safety, Opel experts have provided such systems as the DSA chassis, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electric power steering and much more, helping to prevent emergency situations.
Under the hood, a 16-valve engine with a displacement of 1.8 liters. Acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h takes 12 seconds.
In 2001, a charged version of the Zafira OPC (GSi Turbo) was introduced. Having retained the practicality of an ordinary minivan, the car acquired a sporting character. The exterior of the charged version features updated bumpers, a small rear spoiler and new sills. Huge 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/45 dimension tires, a modified suspension and new oversized brake discs complement the picture. In the role of the main driving force of the Zafira Gsi Turbo is a two-liter 16-valve engine from the sports Astra Coupe, which accelerates the minivan to one hundred kilometers per hour in 7.6 seconds. The maximum speed of the car is 220 kilometers per hour.

In 2003, given the emergence of numerous competitors, Opel decided to upgrade the Zafira a bit. The car received a slightly changed appearance and a new list of options. Perhaps, this process will be difficult to call a full restyling or modernization. A new false radiator grille has appeared in the exterior, which now, regardless of version and modification, has a chrome finish. Also, the changes affected the taillights. All other updates need to be looked in the list of additional equipment. Now, as an option for your car, you can order chrome door handles, rims and rear, fifth door handles. On request are offered the finish of the center console “aluminum” and chrome edging devices. On this, in principle, the update ends, since even before it Zafira offered xenon headlights, climate control and many other modern technologies.
The new generation of Opel Zafira was introduced in spring 2005 at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is built on a new platform, has a new body design and can carry up to seven passengers in three rows of seats. Overall dimensions increased significantly: the length from 4.32 m increased to 4.47 m, the width added 4 cm, and the height – 1 cm.
The engine range includes four gasoline engines: 1.6-liter 105-strong, 1.8-liter 140-strong, 2.2-liter 150-strong, and a two-liter turbo engine with 200 horsepower. In addition, there are three more 1.9-liter turbodiesels with a capacity of 100, 120 and 150 horsepower. These motors are borrowed from the Italian concern Fiat.
