The Japanese company presented the Infiniti Q70 sedan and its extended version of the Infiniti Q70L at the 2014 New York Auto Show. The model replaced the premium sedan Infiniti M and is its updated version.
During the modernization, local changes in the exterior and interior took place, some parts of the suspension were replaced, the chassis received more durable elements, and the electronic support was improved.
There were no significant changes in the appearance of the model. The exterior design is made in the corporate style of the Japanese brand. The features of a sedan show the sporty image. The front of the car looks bright and aggressive due to a slightly “frowned” head optics with bi-xenon filling. A relatedness to other models of the brand gives a chrome grille and a raised hood. The front bumper is crowned with a large air intake and fog lights with a chrome trim.
On the side, the sedan looks interesting, slightly cheeky. The silhouette of the Infiniti Q70 is swift and dynamic, and the most noticeable details are the roof falling to the stern, a long hood, “puffed up” wheel arches, as well as a characteristic “rib” stretching from the front to the rear optics along the entire length of the body. The Infiniti Q70 feed looks massive and solid, and the sporty character of the car is emphasized by a raised bumper with two chrome tailpipes of the exhaust system, a small spoiler on the edge of the trunk lid and stylish optics with LEDs.
245/50 R18 tires are standardly installed on stylish 18 alloy wheels made of light alloy; 245 / 40R20 tires can be ordered as an option on exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels (standard on Sport equipment).
The external dimensions of the body of the Infiniti Q70 2014 are: 4945 mm in length, 1845 mm in width, 1500 mm in height, 2900 mm wheelbase, front and rear wheels track – 1575 mm and 1570 mm, respectively, ground clearance – 149 mm (for all-wheel drive versions – 145 mm). Infiniti Q70L 2014 due to an increase in the size of the wheelbase by 185 mm to 3050 mm has a common body length of 5130 mm. The remaining sizes correspond to the version with standard sizes of the base. The doors, hood and trunk lid are made of aluminum, but still the curb weight of the car is high – from 1680 to 1855 kg, depending on version.
Inside, the Infiniti Q70 fully justifies its status as a premium car – the interior is endowed with a solid and elegant design. The atmosphere of luxury and comfort is created due to the high level of equipment and the abundance of soft panels. The interior of the sedan is finished with high-quality and expensive leather and natural wood (Japanese ash), and the center console has aluminum decorative inserts.
The center console sticks out a little into the cabin. A seven-inch color display is right in front of your eyes, however, all functions are controlled through a proprietary keyboard. Below you can watch the audio control unit. Well, the most unusual element of the interior is a stylish analog clock.
The Infiniti Q70 has comfortable front seats with expressive lateral support, electric adjustments and heating (in expensive versions, with ventilation). There is enough space for passengers of any physique, from the amenities – a wide central armrest. For rear passengers, a soft sofa is installed. Depending on the level of equipment, second-row passengers are provided with such bells and whistles as a multimedia system (screens are integrated into the front head restraints), individual climate control and the volume of “music”. Most interesting is the supply of free space and passenger comfort in the second row of the Infiniti Q70L version. 823 mm is provided for the legs sitting behind, so that having adjusted the optimal backrest with the help of an electric drive, you can calmly throw a foot over a foot.
The trunk of the Q70 sedan with a standard and increased wheelbase is ready to accept no more than 500 liters of cargo. However, uneven walls and wheel arches protruding inwardly make it not very convenient to use (the opening is too narrow in the depth of the compartment). Under the raised floor there was only a spare dokatka. The luggage compartment lid is equipped with an electric drive, the fuel tank holds 80 liters of gasoline.
The Infiniti Q70 has three gasoline engines. The role of the base motor is performed by a 2.5-liter V-shaped “six” with a factory designation VQ25HR with a capacity of 222 hp. and 253 Nm of ultimate torque (sent exclusively to the rear wheels). Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 9.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 231 km / h. Fuel consumption: in the city – 13.3 liters, on the highway – 7.9 liters, in mixed mode – 9.9 liters (for every 100 km).
The next two units are equipped with an ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive transmission with a multi-plate clutch in the front wheel drive. In standard modes, all traction is fed to the rear wheels, and if they slip, up to 50% of the torque can be directed to the front axle.
