The front-wheel drive sedan Chery B11 Oriental Son is manufactured in China by Chery Automobile Co., Ltd since 2003. In 2006, the model was named Eastar, and in 2007 its sales in Russia began under the name Chery Mikado; in Egypt is sold under the name Speranza A620. The car was designed on the basis of the 2001 Daewoo Magnus, has dimensions of 4785/1815/1445 with a base of 2711 mm and is positioned in the E2 segment (business class).
Cherie Mikado has a representative appearance, while the body lines, the characteristic trunk cut, headlights and taillights resemble Magnus, and the original grille. Solid dimensions give considerable overall dimensions, especially in width, and an impressive track of 1550/1530 mm.

Engine power of 2 liters paired with an automatic transmission is enough for confident movement in the city stream, the car accelerates quickly, but smoothly; at high speeds, the reaction to pressing the gas pedal is somewhat sluggish. With a mechanical gearbox, Mikado is noticeably faster, manual gear shifting makes it possible to fully unscrew the motor, which is accompanied by a certain discomfort due to insufficient noise isolation. A car with a 2.4-liter engine is more dynamic due to its significant torque.
Mitsubishi’s licensed INVECS-II machine has been known for a long time and has proven itself on other models: the delays are small, the switching is soft, and in the kick-down mode, the necessary acceleration is carried out without much thought. It has a manual mode that allows maximum use of engine power.
Independent suspension: front MacPherson strut with coil springs, rear multi-link, structurally reminiscent of a Honda Accord steering axle. The vehicle is comfortable on the move; road surface irregularities are practically not transmitted to passengers. A large suspension travel occurs at speeds above 100km / h and is accompanied by rocking. Despite the softness of the suspension, in the corners of the reaction the cars are adequate and understandable. With a significant mass (equipped with 1470 kg, full 1845 kg), the car is quite maneuverable. Steering wheel without excessive sensitivity, as if created for a quiet driving. Brakes (front ventilated discs, rear discs) provide effective braking.
In competition with Korean classmates, this large comfortable sedan, designed for leisurely driving on roads with any surface, has a weighty argument – a lower price with a richer set.
