Chevrolet Viva

In 2004, a joint venture General Motors – AvtoVAZ was opened, which began mass production of Chevrolet Viva cars. This model was developed on the basis of the Opel Astra T-3000 platform. Of the visible changes in appearance compared to the German counterpart, the car received a new grille, front bumper, nameplates and rear reflector. The interior has also undergone some changes. The color of the dashboard, the material and the color of the seats became different.
The car is available in three trim levels: L, LS and GLS.

Basic (L) is the most modest. Instead of a radio tape recorder, there is no covered niche, no air conditioning, no electric windows and mirrors, as well as rear head restraints, airbags and steering wheel adjustments. But then there is ABS, disc brakes on all wheels, a central locking with a remote control, isothermal windows and an anti-theft system.

The LS version differs from the previous one only in alloy wheels, a front bumper with integrated fog lights from the Astra Coupe model and heated rear window.

Finally, Viva in the GLS. Here are already offered the usual benefits to many like electric drives, heating, airbags, rear head restraints, adjustable steering column, etc. There are even some excesses. For example, a wide red reflective strip on the trunk lid, a bright front panel, an aluminum sport finish and a two-spoke sports steering wheel. Plus, the original instrument cluster with white scales and a silver panel of the center console.

Viva is powered by a 1.8-liter engine from Opel with 125 hp. This power unit accelerates the Chevrolet to 100 km / h in just 9.5 s., And a top speed of 200 km / h. Fuel consumption of 7.8 liters per 100 km. In terms of toxicity, the model meets the requirements of Euro-4. The engine is distinguished by durability and an even characteristic of the distribution of torque over the entire speed range (achieved through the use of an intake manifold with a variable path length).

The car received an electric power steering, a dynamic stabilization system and a five-speed manual gearbox.

The indisputable advantages of Viva include the fact that the model is adapted to the climatic conditions and requirements of motorists in Russia. An excellent anti-corrosion treatment completes the picture. On Chevrolet Viva, anticorrosive is applied to all joints of metal parts of the body, to all joints, to all welds, wherever they are, on the bottom and sills, and even on the door hinges.

With a relatively compact overall dimensions, Chevrolet Viva has a spacious and comfortable interior. It will comfortably accommodate the driver, passengers, a mass of large and small luggage. The comfortable rear seat folds in an asymmetric proportion of 2: 1, although the pillow itself remains unshakable. Effective noise and vibration isolation, comfortable seats with a lot of adjustments, a high-performance heating system and air conditioning (option) will make it possible to carry trips of various lengths with equal ease.

To the great joy of the layman, the Chevrolet Viva has a decent trunk. Both in terms of volume and convenience. With rubber mount in the left niche for reliable fixation of, for example, useful objects, such as a container with non-freezing liquid. Under the floor is a full-size spare tire.

At the heart of the Chevrolet Viva design concept is the idea of creating a car that combines driving excitement, comfort, and a high level of safety in its driving performance. That is why the design uses an ultra-rigid (twisting) body, a front suspension mounted on a subframe (significantly reduces the force of blows transmitted to the body), a rear semi-independent, with two longitudinal levers and a transverse beam (plays the role of a stabilizer bar).

Chevrolet Viva is a worthy car with a harmonious appearance, good build quality and confident behavior on the road.
